Popstar To Operastar started on January 15th, Friday night at 9PM on British channel ITV1 .
The show ended in a Blur for Alex James after he became the first celebrity to be voted off Popstar to Operastar. Vanessa White along with Alex was given the least amount of votes, which meant the judges should decide who is going to leave the contest at first night. The decisions were equally spred: Rolando Villazon and Katherine Jenkins decided for Vanessa, whereas Meat Loaf and Laurence llewelyn-Bowen supported Alex. According to votes, Vanessa was the bottom 2. Therefore, Alex had to leave. Below you can see how our guys did.

It's not their aria of expertise... but that won't stop eight pop acts bidding for opera stardom.

Sorry we've not blogged for ages (again)! Thanks to everyone who came to our little tour around Europe, was amazing fun and we look forward to getting back over there!!! We've got some time to write and record now so we're getting stuck into creative mode. We've got big plans for the next year that I wish I could tell you about but all will be revealed in good time. All I'll say is that you're gonna love what we've got in store for you. Forgive me for not blogging that often bit Twitter is taking over!!! Tom X
You have to admit that after three other fansites across Europe took their chance to interview one of McFly, we really could not stay behind, could we? That's why we undertook some action. With a little help from everybody, we e-mailed McFly's Mike Allen and were quite surprised by how helpful he was. What a nice chap! After e-mailing back and forth with Mr Allen, we finally received an e-mail from Thomas Jay Smith, better known as tour manager Tommy, with all our questions answered by many girls' favourite McFly guy Danny.
'We're having a great time in Europe!' is the first thing he tells us. Well, he better! From all that we heard, all the fans were having a blast at all concerts, scattered across the west side of Europe. When we asked him about their choice to play three gigs in Holland, instead of just one, he simply explained that everything comes d... Read more »
McFly's Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd have revealed they admire the Jonas Brothers because they work so hard.
The British band were invited to play with the American teen superstars at Wembley this year, and were bowled over by how focused they were.
Harry said: "They're really nice guys, they're cool - they're very focused, they work really hard... they're quite business minded and they're always writing and recording stuff."
He added: "Which we do as well, but as a reminder to us when we speak to them about music and stuff, they work very hard and they've got very good attitudes to make their mark in the music industry, which they have done.
"They'd be good people to talk to about getting into music. They're really cool guys."
McFly are taking part in the Santander 'Inspired Choice' Celebrity Master Class Programme.
McFly's Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd believe you have more chance of winning the lottery than making it in the music industry as an X Factor winner.
The chart-topping band's members claim the number of acts who have become successes as a result of music reality shows is very low.
Harry said: "We do watch The X Factor and I think it is a good way to make it in the music industry, but it's very tough - there's thousands and thousands of people that enter but it's one person a year, and generally from The X Factor it's only Leona Lewis that's been successful."
Dougie suggested: "I think you've got more chance of winning the lottery?"
Harry continued: "Who else has been successful? There was Will Young from Pop Idol, Leona Lewis... Girls Aloud.
"But that's three people and there's been like 15 of these shows now so it's tough, because people... Read more »
McFly drummer Harry Judd officially opened a new centre for teenagers with cancer at Addenbrooke's Hospital today (Friday).
The Oasis Centre has been built for teenagers with cancer to use before a new, multi-million pound specialist unit opens at Addenbrooke's next year.
Inside is a lounge with big screen TV, games consoles, juke box and table football, as well as a kitchen/diner, therapy room and study room.
Young cancer patients from anywhere in the region can use the new facilities, regardless of where they're being treated.
Harry told Heart: "The Oasis Centre looks amazing. I'm so impressed with the positive environment here and I know that this centre, and the new unit, will make a huge difference to young people with cancer, giving them the ability to chill out with each other and still be teenagers."
The new ten bed specialist unit at the hospital, which will be read... Read more »
McFly didn't succeed to win an opportunity to do World Cup Anthem back in 2006, though many of us remember a beautiful remake of 'Home Is Where The Heart Is'. However, this year they are still considered to be the authors of an anthem, designed to bring all the pride of England together.
Simon Cowell has been asked to inject the X Factor into England's official World Cup 2010 anthem, the News of the World can reveal.
A Football Association source told us: "There's great optimism for the England team after the stunning way in which they qualified for the World Cup. The plan is for the official song to be an absolute show-stopper that will help carry the boys all the way to the final.
"Clearly, Simon Cowell's involvement would pretty much guarantee chart success. He's expressed a real interest in getting one of... Read more »
